N1  - One Hundred and fourty-two years ago , Henry Morton Stanely photographed Kabaka Muteesa  of Buganda and his chiefs. Muteesa's land is situated on the northern shore of the water body now mostly known as lake Victoria, in the country that would later be named after his Kingdom.                                                                                                                                              
While dividing my time  between Uganda and the netherlands, I explored the circumstances that produced the picture of the twelve men and tried to find information about the contexts in which it has since then lived
