Summary, etc. Ausgerechnet in dem von der Grenzmauer umgebenen und abgeriegelten Berlin entsteht Europas Zuflucht für nicht heterosexuelle Menschen. Die Insel Berlin ist offen ,unglaubich vielfältig ,freizügig und schlaflos. Es entstehen erste Szene-Clubs ,Darkrooms ,aber auch die Aktivisten-Bewegungen der Schwulen gegen Paragraph 175 ,und die der Frauen gegen Paragraph 128 nehmen hier ihren Anfang. Dann trifft die große ,tödliche Katastrophe der 80er Jahre Berlin wie keine zweite Stadt : Aids! Doch die Szene überlebt nicht nur dies sondern auch den fall der Mauer ,der das Inseldasein beendet. Aktivisten ,Travesti-Stars,Modemacher ,DJs und bisher unbekanntes Archivmaterial nehmen einen mit in eine hochlebendige Stadt .
