| Summary, etc. | Nie waren seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg weltwiet so viele Menschen auf der Flucht vor Kriegen und Konfliketen wie heute. Für viele, die es bis nach Deutschland schaffen ,ist die Ankunft im Lager Friedland der Beginn eines neues Lebens. Der idyllische Ort in Niedersachsen hat viele Epochen von Fluchtgesischten erlebt. Im September 1945 eröffnet die britische Militärverwaltung das Lager. Es ist die erste Station für Millionen deutsche Vertriebene und Kriegsheimkehrer. Heute ist Friedland ein Erstaugnahmelager für Asylbewerber und Flüchtlinge .Wir haben Menschen aus Syrien ,Eritrea ,Afghanistan und Pakistan während ihres Aufenthalts im Lager begleitet - und auch mit Deutschen gesprochen ,die in der Anfangszeit nach Friedland kamen. |

The British military government opened the camp for German refugees and returning soldiers in September 1945. Today, Friedland is a reception center for asylum seekers and refugees. Many have abandoned everything back home and risked their lives getting to Europe. |
