Summary, etc. In ihrem sehr persönlichen Dokumentarfilm befasst die Regisseurin Carolin Genreith sich mit dem Lebenswandel ihres über 60 Jahre alten Vaters ,der seit der Trennung von seiner Frau jedes Jahr mit Freunden zum Vergnügungsurlaub nach Thailand fährt. Dort lernte er auch eine Frau kennen die jünger als seine eigene Tochter ist. Dass er in seinem Heimatort in der Nordeifel hinter vorgehaltener als "Sextourist" verspottet wird, ist dem Vater gleichgültig .Schlieβlich will er die junger Thailänderin sogar heiraten. Nach anfänglicher Skepsis beginnt Carolin Genreith sich für den Entschluss ihres Vaters zu interessieren .So begleitet sie mit ihrer Kamera bei den Vorbereitungen auf die Hochzeit zu hause ,bei der Reise nach Thailand ,wo er die Familie seiner zukünftigen Frau kennen lernen möchte, bi shin zur Trauung selbst.
Summary, etc. [EN] Since separating from his wife, Dieter Genreith has escaped his loneliness once a year by going from the Eifel to Thailand. There, he got to know Tukta, who is about the same age as his own daughter, Carolin. Carolin has serious problems with the relationship: What differentiates her over-60-year-old father from the countless German sex tourists? In an attempt to understand her father, his longings and his fears, she has made a very personal documentary in which both sides are open, honest and tolerant enough to learn from each other. In Thailand, Carolin ends up as her father's maid of honor – whether the marriage can survive all the existing differences and preconditions remains to be seen.
