In 1992 the world's most technologically advanced coking plant was constructed in Dortmund at a cost of 650 million Euros. Eight years later the facility was closed and sold to China, lock, stock and building plans. Ulrike Franke and Michael Loeken spent one and a half years documenting the dismantling process and the conflicts it provoked between the few remaining German workers and their 400 Chinese successors.
